PCIM Asia, the region’s premier exhibition and conference for power electronics, intelligent motion, renewable energy, and energy management, will return to the Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Centre in Shenzhen, China from 24 – 26 September 2025.
Like its renowned sister event in Nuremberg, Germany, PCIM Asia combines a specialized trade show with an industry-leading conference, bringing together power electronics professionals, academics, and industry thought leaders from Asia and beyond for three days of knowledge sharing, networking, and commercial engagement. The 2025 event will further strengthen these global connections with the introduction of a new international pavilion designed to promote cross-border collaboration.
According to estimates from market research firm Yole Group, the global power electronics market is expected to grow from $26 billion in 2024 to $36 billion by 2029, driven by the increasing adoption of sustainable energy and rising demand for electric vehicles. Throughout this period, the Asia-Pacific region is expected to remain a key influence on the pace and direction of the market’s development.
Meanwhile, China’s influence within the sector is becoming increasingly prominent. Although it remains the largest importer of power electronic devices, the country is making a concentrated effort to enhance its domestic SiC wafer production capabilities with the aim of securing an independent supply chain for its growing EV industry and other high-tech sectors. These market shifts open up new opportunities for businesses throughout Asia and could pave the way for a more widespread adoption of SiC technologies within the industry.
Recognized as a central meeting point for Asia’s power electronics community, PCIM Asia offers a platform where industry professionals can stay informed on the latest industry developments and emerging business opportunities. The show’s 2025 edition is set to further expand its international scope with the introduction of a new international pavilion. Catering to international SMEs, this area will provide a dedicated environment for exhibitors to introduce their latest products to the Chinese market and establish connections with local buyers.
The 2025 event will also see the return of the E-Mobility Pavilion, tailored to power electronics enterprises serving the new energy vehicle sector, and the WBG Semiconductor Zone, a showcase of SiC and GaN technologies. This zone will also host an accompanying forum exploring supply chain developments, technological advancements, and market conditions for wide bandgap devices.
PCIM Asia Conference
Held concurrently with the exhibition, the annual PCIM Asia Conference brings together experts from both academia and industry to present their latest research findings, discuss recent industry developments, and assess the applications of power electronics in the fields of intelligent motion, renewable energy, energy management, and more. In 2024, the conference hosted a total of 85 presentations, with the PCIM Asia Advisory Board reviewing 75 submitted papers to uphold a high standard of content. Notably, the 2025 conference has already registered a 25% increase in paper submissions over the previous year, reflecting the conference’s growing stature within the industry.
