Bureau Veritas has collaborated with Advantech to achieve two IEC 62443-4-2 cybersecurity certifications (Verification of Conformity, VoC). These certifications for Advantech’s AFE-E350 EVSE controller and ARK-3534B industrial automation system mark a significant milestone in strengthening IoT cybersecurity standards. A certification ceremony was held last November 21 at Advantech’s AIoT Intelligent Co-Creation Campus to celebrate this achievement.
Aaron Su, Vice President of Advantech’s Embedded IoT Group, highlighted the rapidly increasing demand for cybersecurity in industrial control systems (ICS), driven by stricter global regulations. The IEC 62443 series of standards is a critical cybersecurity framework for industries such as energy, healthcare, and transportation. In addition to Advantech’s achievements in IEC 62443-4-2 certification for the AFE-E350, EVSE controller, and ARK-3534 industrial automation system, Advantech has taken a global lead by offering the IEC 62443 Certification Service, collaborating with Bureau Veritas to actively guide customers in obtaining IEC 62443 certification. This collaboration helps companies establish strong cybersecurity defenses for their ICS, achieve certification more efficiently and cost-effectively, and confidently meet stringent regulatory standards, enhancing the trustworthiness of their products and services.
The Advantech IEC 62443 Certification Service focuses on the cybersecurity demands of edge computing devices and IoT technologies. It is specifically tailored for computing devices based on x86 CPUs, covering the entire process from product design to deployment. By leveraging Advantech’s in-house testing and validation capabilities, the service helps system integrators and equipment builders with varying certification requirements to save time and reduce financial costs in the certification process. This accelerates certification timelines, ultimately enhancing security and compliance of their devices.
Bureau Veritas offers tailored, one-stop cybersecurity solutions, supporting clients from the design phase through to product deployment. Drawing on extensive experience in cybersecurity compliance, Bureau Veritas delivers a comprehensive range of services, including vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and compliance auditing, to meet international standards such as IEC 62443, ISASecure, FDA, and ISO/IEC.
In this partnership, Bureau Veritas’ expertise and global network have played a vital role in helping Advantech achieve certification for both products, ensuring enhanced cybersecurity protections and accelerated market deployment.
Pascal Le Ray, Vice President of Bureau Veritas Northeast Asia, will attend the ceremony, stating, “We are honored to collaborate with Advantech, a global leader in AIoT. This milestone demonstrates the strength of our partnership in addressing the cybersecurity challenges of IoT and edge computing, paving the way for more efficient and secure solutions for the future.”
The certification ceremony symbolizes a shared commitment to driving innovation and setting new benchmarks in cybersecurity for IoT and edge computing. This collaboration establishes a solid foundation for secure and sustainable development in global markets.
